Here is what the Impactana toolbar has to offer.

On one hand, we have BUZZ metrics for each page: number of Facebook shares, Twitter shares, Google+ shares, Pinterest shares, LinkedIn shares and Xing shares.

By clicking on each of these icons, you can quickly share the content you’re looking at on any of these social channels.

Often publishers choose not to show these metrics. But even though people can pay for social likes and shares, social signals help you understand how popular a piece of content is.

Also, by looking at the social media info, you can also understand which platform works better for a certain piece of content.

Next to the BUZZ metrics that give you a full view of the social shares, you have a button called “Sharers”. Once you click on it, you can see the people that shared the article you’re looking at.

To view the sharer-information you will need to be logged into your Impactana account.

Along with the names of the people that shared the article you’re looking at, Impactana also provides you with rich contact information and social media profiles info. You have everything you need to get in touch with these people :).

If the sharer you’re looking at is writing content on various websites, Impactana shows you a list of the websites where he is a contributor.

Going back to the toolbar, it also has a Buffer, Hubspot and Pocket integration. These integrations allow you to share content easily, or just save it for reading it later. You can also share the page you’re looking at also by e-mail at the click of a button.

Apart from BUZZ, the Impactana content marketing toolbar has an additional, more powerful set of metrics. We call it IMPACT.

IMPACT gives marketers a good idea about the content that goes beyond BUZZ and engages people.

The IMPACT set of metrics includes: the number of views, clicks, comments, downloads, backlinks and referring domains.

If you click on the number of backlinks, you can see the backlinks to that page right away. all you need is an activeLinkResearchTools account. A Quick Backlinks (QBL) report will start automatically.

If you click on the referring root domains, you will again be redirected to your LinkResearchTools account, and an automatic Quick Backlinks report will start analysing the backlinks to the domain.

The IMPACT metrics are long term engagement effects. You need to look at them if you want to assess the success of a marketing campaign in the most accutate way. Combined with BUZZ, the IMPACT metrics give you the full picture and helps you find a direction in your content marketing strategy plans.

The IMPACT signals, can help you find engaging content even in boring industries.

An article about how to fix your air conditioner will not go viral on Facebook, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not a good piece of content. It doesn't mean that users didn’t engage with it.

If the article has a high Impact score, it means that people found it useful, they commented and linked to it. That’s long term engagement, and you cannot find engaging content by only looking at BUZZ.

The Impactana content marketing toolbar also shows you rich author information, allowing you to connect easily with them on social media or get in touch by e-mail.

Another handy piece of information is the publishing date.

On many websites, that information is either hidden on purpose to make all the content look timeless or its just hard to spot. There are industries that evolve very fast and an article written on a certain topic six months ago, may be outdated already.

The Impactana toolbar comes in two colours, and you can have it either at the top or the bottom of your screen. You can change your settings easily.
